You must also remember that starting July 1, 2010, the Kansas State Board of Nursing will no longer issue the usual Wallet Card (“license”) that you used to receive. Now Certificates and license cards will only be printed with initial licensure and they will indicate that the board has approved your licensure in Kansas as a registered professional nurse, a licensed practical nurse, an advanced registered nurse practitioner, or a licensed mental health technician. This Licensure will have your name, address and license number.

If you are wondering, if Certified Nurses Aides (CNA’s) and Certified Medication Aides (CMA’s) are licensed or certified through the Kansas State Board of Nursing or not then, the answer will be in negative because, Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) handles CNA and CMA certification and Nurse Aide Registry.

For further information a certified nurse aide can contact KDHE at (785) 296-1240 or www.kdhe.state.ks.us/hoc/.
