Various institutes offer accredited training, throughout the state. These include nursing homes, high schools, rehabilitation centers, community colleges, long-term care facilities, technical and vocational schools. All approved facilities cover the mandated number of instruction hours (i.e. 75 hours), required by the state. The coursework for nurse aide programs is designed by the Utah Nursing Assistant Registry. That training is divided into class room study and clinical training (supervised by a medical professional or an experienced nurse).
In order to enrol for nursing programs, you should be of 18 years or more, must possess a diploma in high school or equivalent and proficiency in reading, speaking and writing English. Course modules includes a wide variety of skills, you will require when working as a certified nursing assistant, like interpersonal and interaction skills, infection control, patient care, emergency procedure, basic nursing, patient rights and more.
