To get listed in the Delaware CNA registry and work as a certified nursing assistant, you will need to successfully complete a CNA training program approved by the Delaware Division of Long Term Care Residents Protection and then qualify a competency exam. CNA classes are of 150 hours and comprises of both classroom and clinical instructions. The duration of theoretical classes is 75 hours and practical session is also of 75 hours.

The curriculum of nurse aide classes covers the function and role of the CNA at the workplace, like addressing the varied requirements of the patients, taking care of them in an emergency, keeping them protected from any infection or injuries, medical terminology, physiology and anatomy, etc. They also learn about the emotional, physical and mental states of the patients and their family members.
For pursuing CNA classes in Delaware, one needs to be of 18 years old. He/she should have a high school diploma and a GED. Candidates also have to submit a criminal background and a TB check report. Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English along with the knowledge of Mathematics is also a mandatory requirement.
Nursing Assistants, having a few years of experience, can enrol for the Senior Certified Nursing Assistant course in the state of Delaware. These advanced nurse aide classes are of 50 hours and develop advanced skills and knowledge. Candidates, who successfully complete these classes, receive a certificate and after that, they can work as a senior CNA and earn handsome salary.
